SMMSB is very committed to participate in contributing efforts towards greener environment especially in our core business activities to create clean environment in our country.

We are striving and supporting vigorously to secure liquefied natural gas (LNG) as the replacement for heavy fuel oil (HFO) in global maritime shipping and play active role in global marine and offshore transportation.

LNG is a very clean source of energy compared to other type of gas and the demand has growing rapidly compared to other fossil fuel, also useful for power generation station and other domestic industry markets.

SMMSB high commitment has been conceptualized and materialized to the development of the Malaysia’s first LNG Powered Vessel, a Platform Supply Vessel using dual-fuel LNG and diesel fuel engine system and additional battery hybrid power system to serve and support national and global Oil & Gas industry activities. This high technology vessel definitely will reduce the fuel
and gas usage consumption and also fulfil the International Maritime Organization global sulphur cap regulations as well as reducing NOx, CO₂ and particulate matter emissions.
